An examination is accomplished by means of specially-designed instruments of proctology (proctoscope and anoscope) which have lighted, soft tips to provide a clear and direct view of the interior of the rectum. With them, the inside of the rectum can be seen as clearly as looking at the palm of your hand. In uncomplicated cases, the examination is performed easily and painlessly.  It also means I don’t have to do any guessing. Two good eyes and a thorough knowledge of the work at hand allows me to make a correct diagnosis.

The sequence of steps I follow during an examination may show you how thorough these exams are: inspection, palpation, digital examination, anoscopy, and proctoscopy.

It is my hope, if you suffer from rectal disorders, or if you suspect trouble in this area of the body, that you will avail yourself of the services we at the Clinic have to offer – proper, scientific, competent examination and treatment, intelligently applied by a doctor of long experience and training. Our patients are nearly always completely satisfied.
