Diathermy is a surgical tool that uses a focused electrical current to generate heat. The unit itself is a small handheld device with adjustable current.

Using diathermy I perform very-low-impact types of surgery to excise (remove) and seal tissues, and to control bleeding, even arterial bleeding, during other treatments. Among other conditions, it is used in the treatment of skin tags, rectal polyps and anal/rectal fissures
